I've seen the episode on naver and wtf it's even worse than the ending. So much unsolved mysteries yet they made another plothole IN THE EPILOGUE.

Exactly like George Lucas when he created the prequel, Jar Jar Bings was supposed to be the hidden villain but he chicken out when the fans despised this character. ReplyDeleteThis is a super late reply. But no. Jar Jar was never meant to be the villain. He was created to get a PG-13 rating, and to sell more merchandise to kids. The Jar Jar villain theory goes against so much of the story of the original trilogy that it's sad that anyone would even consider it. Especially when Sheev Palpatine was known as Sidious before Episode I was ever released, and he was always the main villain.

DeleteNot just Rai, all of them survived. Maybe Franky built a time machine. Also I wish the artist would work with some other author and cover all the plot holes. And also why did he kill off the main character in the first place. He should have known that many people won't be happy with it. So the best thing would have been to put Rai into deep sleep while Franky researches the blood stones, to find a way for Rai to recover. Arghhhhhh I could rant like this forever.

As the author himself said, the ending was planned from the beginning. If there are going to be more chapters, then we will probably see all the plot holes fill up. So stop with your annoying rant over something so trivial. Overall noblesse was a satisfying story and I am glad I ran at it. The epilogue was a bit of surprising, but I am hoping it will be thoroughly explained in the next chapters

DeleteI like how it's a cliffhanger. It means that the authors could come back to this one day if they so choose to. It's not as final as the last episode would suggest. However, I do hope that they weren't pressured to change anything because of all the backlash from the previous episode. Noblesse has had its problems, sure, but it's still one of my fav comics. The problem is with author-nim who couldn't get his shit together and singlehandedly made noblesse's went downhill halfway through, because noblesse was really good until it reached Lagus arc, well there's some repetitive plot using here and there but at least it was well-written
DeleteYeah right please tell me one title who really good and don't need plot armor to make it, I read many of it but it's always down few chapter after that, there some who can pass that and can reach 100-200 chapter but after that it's become another shitty story tale, many of it even try to put many thing inside of it and ditch them few chapter after that, probably the only good manhwa I read so far is The Breaker and it's sequel even though those 2 also suffer same thing as other manhwa (at least just few chapter and back to good manhwa) but it's still good manhwa and I can say The Breaker and it's sequel almost equal to good manga in Japan like One Piece, Toriko, JoJo Bizarre, etc.

ReplyDeleteOk, I believe everything that happened in the epilogue must be some kind of a fantasy of the kids, a dream that didn't happen in reality (maybe an AU). That would explain it.
(Or Rai, Muzaka and Raskreia have been given the same ending as Alucard from Hellsing Ultimate, where he came back from death after 30yrs, for whatever reason..).
P.S. mega-plotholes aside, it's nice to see everyone back alive, and Rai smiling to see the children again.
Another thing I noticed: we didn't see Rai's eyes in this chapter, what if he sacrificed his Noblesse side and became human ?

Well.. sadly even this fandom has a decent amount of toxic fan-tards (the so-called "true loyal fans") who would accept every badly written crap and get offended over constructive criticism by other people with different opinions, often reacting in very defensive way.
Deleteimo, Noblesse should just rename itself to Fanblesse for how many times over the past years the authors have added stuff to appeal the readers (like fan-service and other irrelevant/unexplained stuff), limiting the actually relevant plot (if there ever was) and with it leaving huge plotholes behind that haven't been explained to this day.
A story-tellers primary objective shouldn't be to please the fans, but to give everyone a proper view what a series is all about, explaining stuff that might not be clear to understand, etc...

DeleteI remember a spin off series with Noblesse. There was a red snow after a battle and Rai put everyone to life again, standing in the middle of the town or sth like that. Maybe red snow in the end was for erasing memory of human about the Nobles. That would explain why clan leaders turn back to Lukedonia... well we could write so many "what ifs" but it doesn't change the fact that the Author just trolled us with this series... :P

I realized a long time ago that the author could start good ideas but didn't know how to finish them, but I still thought that he would come up with something by the end. There were so many abandoned ideas. I assume that naver webtoon authors don't get assigned editors. Such a shame.
I think there are enough interesting ideas and good characters in Noblesse that I wish a decent author would reboot it and take it in a different direction.

DeleteI’m mostly confused, is there any need about a mini comic to fill the holes? Don’t get me wrong I love this comic and ending was... not unexpected but felt a bit forced. I don’t really understand a lot of what happened or the many things it felt like were left behind. I want to appreciate and just love this comic that helped introduce me into manga and comics, but it’s hard to do when so many things were left unfinished in the epilogue of all things. Speaking from a writers point of view, killing the main characters was actually a good way to end it. Rai’s has been steadily dying anyway, and Mazuka is much the same. If anyone was to survive I’d think it would be the Lord. Don’t get me wrong I would have bawled my eyes out, and I did for a second. I’m happy Rai’s gets his chance to be happy, as I just love his character but from a writers stance it doesn’t really make sense and leaves a very unsatisfactory feeling. I have a list of questions and I desperately want to have them answered, especially given I’ve followed Noblesse for six years. But in all, I feel bad for both the writer and illustrator. It’s difficult to take criticism and have something that has been eleven years of their lives trashed by some. I hope they listen at least to some of their loyal fans and give some closure to us. Maybe a hiatus and working on something else will give them the time they need to help everyone feel like the story is truly over. I wish them the best on their new comic too! Ah I’ve really gone on a rant.
ReplyDeleteI believe those were scenes of the characters in the afterlife as the blood snow clearly is a sign of death. And Frankenstein was hinted to have a long life based on his contract with Rai, so given how he knew of his death and it being the worst possible thing for him, it would make sense for his afterlife to be a desperate impossible feat to somehow make Rai not die. The other three are in their favorite places with their people as they imagine how it would turn out I think.

ReplyDeleteI wish the author put something "ramen" scene with all of them (those people who are close to Rai) eating together as family and valuable friends and comrades and also scene like "Franky serving Rai a tea" at least in the ending...since the ending is so hanging..its no surprise that a lot of readers wants more of it...I just hope there will be a sequel of this or something
ReplyDeleteI got this idé from others but in the spin-of "Rai's Adventure" the ending contained the "Red Snow" which healed all the deceased humans. What if, the "Red Snow" at the end of Noblesse contained the same healing energi (possibly from the red stones) and somehow healed Rai and all the others??

ReplyDeleteI don't really understand the ending.. I have a little idea what happened but I wasn't very satisfied. I am all goods with the ending and I am very happy seeing all of them alive. It just so happens that those words coming out from Frankies mouth is a bit questionable... leaving us hanging all these years. It felt Rai was the only one who didn't survived. Some say he did reborn from being a noblesse again but we didn't really know because we don't have the idea on Rai's existence. Questions like 'The Authority' itself is pretty much hidden. On that said, it was very much entertaining and at least I saw all of them happy for just a moment. (I just want to know what Franky intented to do when he did say that part and also why he left the school) Ohh it came into my mind.. I think I know why Franky left the school is because there is no reason for him to govern the school because he thought all along that Rai was that after the missile but then again Rai get reborned without Frankie's knowing.
